The history of the Kurz Group
Family-owned and independent since 1960
1960
Founded by Friedrich Kurz in Gießen. First relocation services were offered. In Solms-Oberbiel, a family home including room for offices and storage facilities was built. Soon, also long-distance haulage services were added to the portfolio.
1970
The industrial park in the east of Oberbiel was developed where a building for storage and offices was built. The company was growing.

1980: our own fleet of vehicles was already essential back then
1980
Friedrich Kurz GmbH established itself as a specialist for regional, national and global relocation services – especially for business clients.
1995
Sold the long-distance haulage business due to changing market conditions.
1996
Bought the logistics and distribution center in Wetzlar, Germany, as the foundation for our further development as an international logistics provider.
2007
Founded “dasAktenarchiv.de”.
2018: the new logistics center in Wetzlar has facilitated further growth
2018
Opened a new logistics center to support an international company from the optical industry in outsourcing its entire logistics process.
2022: photovoltaic rooftop system
2022
Investment into sustainable, self-produced solar energy: A photovoltaic rooftop system with a gross performance of 300 kWp has been installed on the logistics center. Thereby, the carbon footprint is reduced by 137 tons per year.
2023
The company’s founder Friedrich Kurz has passed away on June 2, 2023 at the age of 90. His strong, visionary personality remains vivid in our memories (obituary, in German). One of his last projects was the investment into an in-house heat pump system. This has been put into operation at the end of the year.
